Karla Grossenbacher was quoted in "Reviewing Employee E-Mails: When You Should, When You Shouldn't," a May 15 story from SHRM on whether an employer should view the contents of personal e-mail accounts on company-owned computers. Grossenbacher said that state laws addressing invasion of privacy may forbid an employer from intruding into the private e-mails of an employee if that intrusion would be "highly offensive to a reasonable person."
