Camille Olson was quoted in an August 21 story from SHRM, "Despite Gains, Average Intern Wage Still Below Pre-Recession Level," on how unpaid intern programs face compliance hurdles. Olson said that the goal is to ensure that companies are not getting around minimum-wage and other employee protection laws by calling workers 'interns,' when the work and conditions under which the work is being performed are no different than that of actual employees.
