Seyfarth Shaw’s Michael Stevens, senior associate in the firm’s Labor and Employment department in San Francisco, was selected as one of the Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40 – Class of 2018 by the National LGBT Bar Association. The Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40 - Class of 2018 will be recognized at a special awards ceremony on Thursday, August 9, 2018 in conjunction with the 2018 Lavender Law Conference & Career Fair.
Each year, the LGBT Bar recognizes 40 LGBT legal professionals (practicing lawyers, law professors, corporate counsel, members of the judiciary, politicians, etc.) under the age of 40 who have distinguished themselves in their field and have demonstrated a profound commitment to LGBT equality.
Stevens' practice focuses on complex litigation, particularly in the areas of employee benefits and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). He advises and represents clients in all stages of litigation from pleadings through trial. He is a member of the Health Care Fraud and Provider Billing Litigation Team, representing payors in health care reimbursement disputes and provider fraud claims under state law and ERISA. Stevens emphasizes his practice on large, high-stakes cases where eight or nine figures are at stake.
