Seyfarth Shaw LLP received the prestigious Circle of Friends Award for its commitment to pro bono and community service at the San Jose/Silicon Valley NAACP 56th Annual Freedom and Friendship Gala. The NAACP's principal objective is to ensure the political, educational, social and economic equality of minority group citizens of United States and eliminate race prejudice. Sheeva Ghassemi, a Labor & Employment associate in our San Francisco office, is SJ/SV NAACP's General Counsel.

“The SJ/SV NAACP is an organization that I have been involved with since 2003, when I was entering my first year of law school and wanted to find a way to participate in worthwhile pro bono work,” says Sheeva. “I have become fully invested in this organization and enjoy being able to aid the SJ/SV NAACP in providing pro bono legal services to those in need. It’s a testament to Seyfarth Shaw’s commitment to pro bono that it was a 2008 Circle of Friends Award recipient.”
