Seyfarth's Gerald Maatman was named a 2018 Law360 Employment MVP. Law360's MVPs are attorneys who have distinguished themselves from their peers over the past year through high-stakes litigation, record-breaking deals and complex global matters.
In its November 28 profile story, Law360 noted, "...Maatman helped Jimmy John's escape massive wage-and-hour litigation by proving the company isn't responsible for its individual franchises and separately got a 70,000-member class arbitration cut down to 250 people, earning him a spot among Law360's 2018 Employment MVPs."
When asked his advice for junior attorneys, Maatman said, "...the attributes of outstanding lawyering are delivering solid work, creating inventive or outside-the-box solutions and then implementing those innovative defense strategies.”
A team of Law360 editors selected the 2018 MVP winners after reviewing nearly 1,000 submissions.
