Seyfarth’s Whitney Schmidt Named a Rising Star by the National Immigrant Justice Center

Seyfarth Shaw’s Whitney Schmidt, associate in the firm’s Corporate department in Chicago, was recognized as a Rising Star by the National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC).

NIJC’s Rising Star award recognizes associate or junior-level attorneys who have demonstrated extraordinary commitment to ensuring access to justice for immigrants through their pro bono work with NIJC. Schmidt will be recognized at NIJC’s 20th Annual Human Rights Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, June 4.

Schmidt’s experience spans all areas of business law with a concentration in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, finance, and general commercial matters. In addition, she is a member of the Seyfarth Women’s Network and Pro Bono Committee where she regularly volunteers to counsel pro bono clients in a variety of matters including partnering with the National Immigrant Justice Center, the Center for Disability & Elder Law, and Cabrini Green Legal Aid.
