More About Amanda
Amanda helps clients navigate the options for alternative work authorizations, firm benefits, and policies available to help them carve out a long-term career in the US. She educates staff and talent professionals in visa and green card processes, and talks them through timelines and steps needed to reach their hiring goals.
Amanda has extensive experience researching and preparing both non-immigrant and immigrant visa petitions. She has prepared H-1B, L-1, B-1, TN-1, O-1 and J-1 petitions on behalf of client companies of varying sizes and spanning many industries. She has prepared numerous labor certifications under the Department of Labor's "PERM" system.
Her career in business immigration began at Seyfarth nearly 20 years ago. Amanda spent more than seven years researching and preparing both non-immigrant and immigrant visa petitions. She is also well-trained in the preparation and processing of outbound work permits and visa applications to allow US citizens, permanent residents, and temporary workers to be employed by their US firm's affiliates worldwide.
She then transitioned into an in-house role within human resources and recruiting, which exposed her to the day-to-day challenges that clients and their employees face. She was a single point of contact for a large foreign national population with respect to immigration, global mobility, I-9 compliance, and affirmative action. From this, she understands both business and business immigration, and can solve business immigration challenges in a new way.
Amanda is proud to work with Seyfarth's broad group of diverse immigration attorneys and professionals, each with their own unique experience in the field. She learns something new nearly every day from the Seyfarth Business Immigration team, and continues to grow in her understanding of immigration, her clients, and how to best serve them. The partnerships she builds with her clients and their employees are highly rewarding, and built firmly on a foundation of trust and mutual respect.

"Amanda was a massive help to me during my immigration process. She guided me through the process of getting an H4 for my spouse, and to getting a green card for myself. But there was one moment when she truly became a source of comfort for me: I went to Canada to renew my H1B, but was put into administrative processing. I tried to find out what was going on, in vain. When I told her about it, she immediately did her best to find out what was going on, and managed to get an email from the state department explaining that they were doing background processing on me. I ended up being stuck in Canada for five months, but during those strenuous months, it was very comforting to know that Amanda et. al. were on my side." —Client feedback
"I am impressed by Amanda’s great work ethic and strong command of immigration law. She is very organized and professional as well as one of the friendliest people I knew .... Many times I swung by at odd times during the day and even called while on the road and she was always willing to take the time out to help me with my immigration questions & needs." —Client feedback
"Amanda is truly an incredible asset. She has solid knowledge of immigration laws. What makes her special is how seamlessly she partners with the recruiting team. She is a great listener and trainer. Her work is high touch, high volume, and high importance." —Client feedback
"Amanda was amazing at managing time-sensitive applications requiring lots of detail in a pressure-cooker, aggressive environment. She accomplished this with a sense of humor and an engaging manner ... ." —Client feedback
