Julie M. Kamps is counsel in the Labor and Employment department of Seyfarth Shaw LLP's Chicago office, and a member of the ERISA & Employee Benefits Litigation Practice Group.

For more than 13 years, Ms. Kamps has represented defendants in insurance related litigation. Her practice currently focuses on benefit plan litigation where she defends employers, employee benefit plans, and fiduciaries against claims for benefits, breach of fiduciary responsibilities, and bad faith. She has successfully litigated hundreds of cases, including through trial and appeal.

Ms. Kamps is a strong advocate of alternative dispute resolution and became a certified mediator in 2005 through the Center for Conflict Resolution.  

Ms. Kamps received honors of "Rising Star" in the 2013 through 2018 editions of Super Lawyers magazine.
