More About Shelley

The Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) is constantly evolving, and courts around the country are frequently interpreting the law differently, which can result in different obligations and procedures in different states. Clients look to Shelley for practical, cost-effective advice and solutions to the evolving requirements they face in complying with ERISA.

Shelley's experience as a judicial clerk has given her insight into how courts view the parties' arguments and the thought processes behind their opinions, allowing her to craft more persuasive and effective briefs. She also practiced traditional labor and employment law for many years before focusing on ERISA. This background allows her to see the ERISA challenges faced by her clients from a broader perspective. She provides practical advice from a more holistic viewpoint.

Shelley practices ERISA throughout the country. This experience has given her a deep understanding of how various jurisdictions view the ERISA matters faced by clients. She relies on this understanding to align and best defend each case within those parameters.

At Seyfarth, Shelley enjoys working with passionate, creative, and successful attorneys who are constantly striving to offer the best service for their clients. She says, "They are truly interested in learning their clients' business and the matters they face, and we collaborate together to find innovative, yet practical, solutions."
