Seyfarth Shaw is pleased to present an exclusive discussion between Victoria Lipnic, newly Trump-Appointed U.S. EEOC Acting Chair, and Gerald Maatman, the Editor of Seyfarth's 13th Annual Workplace Class Action Litigation Report.

As we move into a shifting policy landscape, employers are seeking insight to prepare for the challenges of the future workplace.  At this important presentation, Acting Chair Lipnic will provide insights into the EEOC initiatives in 2016 and a look ahead to the agenda for 2017. Jerry will discuss the top class action rulings in 2016 and hot topics for 2017, including key trends in workplace class action and government enforcement litigation.

Presenters

Victoria Lipnic was appointed by President Trump as EEOC Acting Chair on January 25, 2017.  She has previously served as Commissioner of the EEOC since her 2010 appointment by President Obama, bringing to the role a breadth of experience working with federal labor and employment laws, including as the U.S. Assistant Secretary of Labor for Employment Standards. In that position, she oversaw the Wage and Hour Division, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, the Office of Workers' Compensation Programs, and the Office of Labor Management Standards. Before joining the EEOC, she was of counsel in Seyfarth Shaw’s Labor & Employment Department.  See the press release announcing her appointment here:  President Appoints Victoria A.
