With August recess and the midterm elections rapidly approaching, time is running out for Congress to address several immigration related matters that are critical to the employer community. Casey Higgins, Assistant to the Speaker for Policy, will be on the call to provide insight on Speaker Ryan’s immigration priorities and what to expect leading up to the midterm elections. Seyfarth’s Randy Johnson, Chair of the Government Relations and Policy Practice Group and former Senior Vice President for Labor, Immigration & Employee Benefits for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and Leon Rodriguez, Partner and former Director of USCIS, will also be on the call to discuss the legislative and regulatory outlook for immigration, including:

  • The Effect of the Current Political Climate (and the Midterm Elections) on Immigration Issues
  • The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) Program and the House discharge petition effort
  • Where is the Congress on such issues as H1-B reform, EB-5 reauthorization, and enforcement measures such as mandatory E-Verify.

We hope you can join us.

Seyfarth Shaw's new, leading Government Relations and Policy Group, which has already won the attention of national media outlets, is excited to offer regular updates to clients regarding the actions of Congress, administrative agencies, and other lawmakers at the federal, state, and local levels.
