US Real Estate & Private Fund Investing Forum

The Information Management Network will host its Ninth Annual US Real Estate Opportunity & Private Fund Investing Forum on May 27-28, 2008. This forum will cover panel discussions on high-performance property investments in direct real estate, private equity and merchant banking. Partners John Napoli and Joel Rubin will be presenters at this event.

John will be speaking on the panel, “Legal & Tax Aspects of Project Level Real Estate Workouts, Defaults & Foreclosures.” The panel will include discussions on documentation, acquiring distressed properties/debt, seller/buyer concerns, use of REITs in private funds, Structuring issues, disposition of REITs, state taxation/captive REIT issues, UBIT exempt investors, pension funds, UBIT due to acquisition indebtness and operational issues.

Joel will be speakingr on the panel, “Failing Joint Ventures What Are Your Options?” which will include discussions on dealing with distressed partners, busted deals and the legal aspects of a partnership gone bad.
