Kayla Siam is an associate in the Corporate department of Seyfarth Shaw LLP’s Chicago office with experience in the areas of mergers & acquisitions, lender and borrower financing, commercial contracting, and general corporate law.

Ms. Siam has counseled both public and private companies through a wide range of business transactions. She has represented clients in connection to the formation of new business entities, creation of joint ventures, borrowing or lending funds through credit facilities, and drafting contracts for a variety of business needs, including operating agreements, shareholder agreements, board committee charters, stock and asset purchase agreements, and various contracts that companies enter into with endorsers, vendors, suppliers, and independent contractors. Ms. Siam is also a member of the Derivative Practice Group and assists with the advisement, drafting and negotiations in derivatives-related transactions.

As a law student at Emory University, Ms. Siam’s student comment was selected for publication in the Emory Bankruptcy Developments Journal, which considered both retailer and consumer risks associated with the minimal standards and guidelines provided under federal law, including the Bankruptcy Code, for the protection of personally identifiable information.

Ms. Siam is engaged in the firm’s community as a member of the Seyfarth Women’s Network and the African American Affinity Group. Ms. Siam also worked as a Summer Fellow at Seyfarth Shaw in 2016 and 2017.
