Seyfarth Again Achieves Perfect Score in 2014 Corporate Equality Index

CHICAGO (December 11, 2013) — Seyfarth Shaw LLP announced today that, for the sixth consecutive year, the firm earned a perfect score of 100 in the annual Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index (CEI) and was named a “Best Place to Work for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual (LGBT) and Transgender Equality.”

Seyfarth’s managing partner J. Stephen Poor remarked, “This recognition reflects our long-standing commitment to becoming a recognized leader for diversity and inclusion. We are proud and delighted to have met the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s criteria in earning top marks.”

Over the past 12 years, the CEI has become a national benchmarking tool on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT equality, spanning nearly every industry and geography. This year, the CEI rated 934 businesses in the report, which evaluates LGBT-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community. Seyfarth’s efforts in satisfying all of the CEI’s criteria resulted in a 100 percent ranking and the designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality.
