Bart Lazar was quoted in a November 2 story from Law360, "Federal Privacy Law May Need Bigger Boost Than Midterms." Lazar said that if Congress emerges from the midterm elections with the intention of showing the nation and world that it wants to shed its dysfunctionality and partisanship and work together for the benefit of U.S. consumers and businesses, as well as show some interest in the U.S. modernizing and aligning its policies with global standards, baseline privacy legislation would appear to be low-hanging fruit that Congress would be likely to enact before Jan. 1, 2020.
