Julia helps companies make decisions that are right for them by bringing a pragmatic and textured understanding of the legal, regulatory compliance, and governance environment in which they operate.

More About Julia

Supporting clients and their employment law needs across the APAC region involves awareness of myriad legal and risk areas. A regional focus requires an understanding of cross-cultural approaches, differences in societal tolerance levels and norms, and different economic climates and political agendas across the region; there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Julia navigates client challenges with managing workforces across a complex region with a strategic yet practical mindset—tackling the big-ticket legal matters that keep them up at night. Julia believes that effective legal advice must fit with her clients' risk management framework, corporate values and promote a positive employee experience.

Julia has in-house experience as counsel for a US investment bank in APAC (litigation, investigations, and employment law), as well as in numerous in-house secondments. Julia gained her experience in leading private practice firms, both in EMEA and APAC. This mix of perspectives allows Julia to step outside a traditional advisory approach adopted by other practitioners and provide a far more pragmatic, commercial, and integrated perspective to problem-solving. Julia focuses not just on the immediate legal matters, but also on the considerations of senior management, reputational considerations, global consistency, and the impact on human resources and employee relations management. Julia will call out drivers that may impact a client's approach from a wider-market regulatory or comparative context.

Julia acts as a partner to her clients, many of whom have worked with her throughout her legal career and use her as a sounding board on day-to-day matters. Julia works on counseling projects to help clients adopt legally sound, market-leading approaches to employee management and engagement, leading by example on matters around diversity and inclusion, innovative recruitment and retention techniques, and value-driven people strategies. A clear and engaging communicator, Julia regularly speaks at events on topics within her practice, and leads client training.

Julia works with clients as if she is part of their team. This approach keeps clients coming back for advice that impacts the heart of their businesses. She can advise the C-suite on bet-the-company matters as a thought leader on workforce development, or advise on strategic people-design matters requiring a well-rounded thought process. Beyond her role as a lawyer, Julia's background and interests outside of work are diverse, and she brings this texture and perspective to the table. Julia talks to clients as real people, mentoring those wanting to succeed further in their careers.

Julia is proud of Seyfarth's historic and market-leading focus on employment law and international employment law. Julia enjoys working with global-leading clients and Seyfarth attorneys at the top of their game, because they continually push her to improve her practice.
