More About Jaime

Businesses are facing new economic challenges and uncertainties, and undergoing frequent acquisitions and divestitures to compete in today's economic environment. Clients look to Jaime for employee benefit program support and counseling when undergoing these corporate transactions. In addition, the changing workforce demands new benefit program structures. Jaime provides innovative solutions to these demands within legal parameters.

Jaime has been practicing as an employee benefits attorney since 2001, working with various clients in different corporate sectors. She counseled clients facing many different legal issues through the harsh economic conditions after 9/11 and the 2008 recession. These experiences have made her keenly aware of the legal challenges clients face in having to provide valuable retirement benefits with smaller budgets. She also understands the demands HR departments face on a daily basis, so she provides companies with realistic legal advice that addresses a wide range of concerns. For example, she has worked with several clients on pension de-risking initiatives and negotiated benefit changes. Jaime has met face to face with clients having to make the tough decisions in offering severance and early retirement programs for employees who have dedicated their entire career to a company. She has also helped clients prepare claim and appeal responses, as well as denial of retirement and medical benefits for longstanding employees.

To better serve her clients, Jaime makes ample use of Seyfarth’s technology tools. For example, she helps manage a Fortune 500 company's claims process entirely online. She uses this technology to responsively review, log, and respond to an extensive amount of medical and retirement claims and appeals each year.

Jaime began her Seyfarth career as a summer associate, and never left. She is proud to be a longstanding employee at the firm, and to work in one of the world's largest employee benefits practices.
