Leah A. Rochwarg, partner, and Brendan O'Rourke, attorney, in Seyfarth Shaw's Boston office, will be presenting Legal Issues Surrounding School Construction Projects at the 12th Annual New England School Facilities and Maintenance Conference.  Their presentation will cover:

Part I: Risk Management Through Careful Contract Drafting.  Attendees will learn the importance of carefully drafted contract provisions in order to minimize and manage project risks and costs.  This session will include a thought-provoking discussion of key contract clauses including: warranties and waivers, damages and dispute resolution, and insurance and indemnity.

Part II. Handling Claims and Disputes on School Construction Projects.  Attendees will gain insight into getting from Notice to Proceed, through design and construction, and project closeout while minimizing costly project delays and disruptions; tips on what to do when faced with a claim or dispute, and remedies and relief short of litigation.
