On December 1st, Bart Lazar will lead the webinar, "Data Protection and Privacy," being put on by the Promotion Marketing Association (PMA).
Effective March 1, 2010, a Massachusetts law goes into effect, which requires any company handling personal information on Massachusetts residents to adopt a "Comprehensive Written Security Program" and meet information security standards. This impacts any company that engages in national marketing or promotion. You may have to manage data on your clients, customers and employees differently as a result. There are other important laws relating to data protection and privacy on the books, but the MA law is the most significant. This informative and actionable session will cover:
- What does the new Massachusetts data security law require and how do you comply.
- Why you need to understand a myriad of federal and state laws involving the privacy and security of personal information.
- How to reduce your chances of having to send out expensive database security breach notices.
