Crain’s Chicago Business named Mark Johnson, partner in the firm’s Construction department in the Chicago office, as one of its Notable Gen X Leaders in accounting, consulting, and law. These leaders must have shown the ability or power to effect change at their firm, serve as a role model in their company, and have assumed a leadership position outside their organization.

The more than 100 members of this group of Gen X Notables are leaders in their industries, managing offices, chairing legal groups, and sitting on strategy-setting boards. Following pandemic disruptions, these professionals were busy bolstering their firms’ revenues and reputations and had overhauled parental leave, caregiver, and flexible work policies to attract and retain top talent. They also gave generously of their time and were eager to help others rise through the ranks in their respective fields.

In Johnson’s profile, Crain’s Chicago Business wrote:

Mark Johnson is a construction and real estate attorney and co-chair of Seyfarth’s Real Estate Litigation Group, overseeing the group’s attorneys and spearheading client development. He also mentors associates as a member of the Chicago office’s Leadership and Professional Development Committee. At the start of the pandemic, Johnson helped his retail tenant clients respond to business shutdowns, and he has since provided creative solutions to aid them with their post-pandemic recovery. He is the former board chair for Rainbows, an organization that supports grieving children, and he is a coach for Elmhurst’s youth baseball and softball teams.
