The Shanghai team works with multinational clients in the core practice areas of employment, corporate and commercial, real estate, and dispute resolution.

Shanghai works closely with other Seyfarth offices to leverage the firm’s extensive resources for clients worldwide.

The team is known for its work with clients in a wide range of corporate, employment, real estate, and dispute resolution matters that are often unique to companies operating in China. This is in addition to cross-border corporate transactions in areas such as capital markets, including equity and debt offerings, private transactions and tender offers, mergers and acquisitions, foreign direct investment, overseas direct investment, corporate restructuring, corporate governance, and intellectual property. The China team’s clients include public and private companies, investment funds, financial sponsors, and institutions.

Wan Li, the managing partner of Seyfarth’s Shanghai office, brings more than 20 years of study and practice experience in China, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, and Australia to the firm. He has a deep understanding of local cultures and environments, and assists clients to fulfill company goals.

CULTURE

Each member of the Shanghai team is fully dedicated to making a contribution to society and the community in which we live. The Shanghai office attends Girl Up 5K charity run/walk, sponsored by the firm every year. We also support local law students by offering internship opportunities, lectures on career planning, and support to local pro bono programs organized by local law society and local organizations.

SETTING

The Shanghai office is located in Jing An Kerry Centre—the hub of Shanghai trade and a commercial area, known as the Jing An District, West Nanjing Road. This connects with consulates, banking, top hotels, luxury shops, and nice restaurants. The office building has direct access to subway station line 2 and 7, making it convenient to clients, visitors, and staff.
