Biography
Ms. Olson is a partner representing clients in environmental enforcement and compliance matters, and environmental matters associated with real estate and corporate transactions, including brownfield developments. The industries she represents include: steel and other heavy manufacturing, explosives and pyrotechnics, construction and demolition, minerals processing, pharmaceuticals, chemicals and specialty checmicals; aggregates, coatings and adhesives, and food manufacturing, distribution, and sales.
Her extensive experience includes RCRA compliance, permitting, and corrective action; federal and state air pollution permitting and enforcement, including New Source Review, Title V, PSD and other construction and permitting air compliance matters; spill and release response and reporting;underground and above-ground tank regulations and cleanups; community right-to-know reporting; and water permitting and wastewater, stormwater and groundwater compliance issues. Her practice also involves addressing and redeveloping impaired properties through voluntary cleanups under various state brownfield cleanup programs, including sites with vapor intrusion and methane gas.
Ms. Olson has authored articles on various environmental topics, and lectures on compliance and permitting, brownfields development, spill response and reporting, and chemical safety and right-to-know laws.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Olson worked as an environmental specialist for a large manufacturing corporation and as an environmental consultant for a national environmental consulting firm.
