More About Maura
Maura helps clients—of all sizes and within various industries—onboard and retain talent by identifying temporary and permanent US visa solutions for a diverse workforce. She provides strategic and programmatic advice to help clients manage employee populations with unique immigration needs amidst an evolving and challenging political landscape.
Maura focuses her practice on the preparation and filing of temporary nonimmigrant visa petitions and permanent employment immigrant visa "green card" applications. Her core practice areas include the processing of H and L non-immigrant visa petitions, and adjustment of status applications. As an attorney in Seyfarth's Business Immigration practice group, Maura combines her extensive legal knowledge with innovative portfolio management techniques to deliver top-notch client service.
Maura is always looking for ways to streamline and improve the delivery of legal services for her clients. For example, Maura worked with Seyfarth Labs to develop a cross-office case management tool that allows team members across the firm's national platform to share, review, and revise documents from anywhere at any time through an online portal. This allowed her to effectively manage a cross-office team working on a high-volume product line, thereby increasing the quality and efficiency of case production. The tool has since been implemented throughout the practice group in various customized and client-specific contexts.
Maura worked her way through law school with internships at several law firms and nonprofit organizations focusing on immigration law (including Seyfarth), and a clerkship at the Boston Immigration Court's Executive Office for Immigration Review.
Maura's experience as a Division I collegiate rower and two-time team captain provides her with a thorough understanding of the value of teamwork to both achieve success and weather adversity. In a fast-paced high-volume environment, Maura knows how to collaborate with her teammates to work hard and produce positive results for her clients.
Maura truly enjoys learning from her teammates every day, and seeing clients benefit from the innovative knowledge and skill of Seyfarth's Business Immigration team. The group is comprised of not only the most talented legal minds in the industry, but also an experienced team of operations and data analytics professionals who help the group harness and capitalize on legal talent in an efficient and effective way.
