Biography
Ms. Bertoldi is an associate in the Labor and Employment Department in the Los Angeles office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. She has represented employers in state and federal courts in defending a broad range of labor and employment claims and complex litigation matters. Ms. Bertoldi’s experience includes the defense of major state-wide wage and hour class action claims involving meal break, rest break, misclassification, overtime, expense reimbursement, alternative workweek schedule and work-off-the-clock allegations. Ms. Bertoldi has worked with national employers in various industries, including retail, pharmaceutical, entertainment, aerospace, manufacturing, insurance, and financial.
She has second-chair arbitration experience in labor and employment matters, as well as mediation experience. She has worked with employers to review their wage and hour practices, conduct workplace investigations, and provided employee anti-harassment and anti-discrimination training. Ms. Bertoldi has successfully opposed numerous class certification attempts and has successfully brought motions for summary judgment or otherwise successfully resolved cases involving claims of disability, race, age and gender discrimination, as well as retaliation, sexual harassment, fraud, defamation, and breach of contract. She also has drafted several successful appellate briefs involving single plaintiff and class claims.
Ms. Bertoldi received her J.D. from U.C. Hastings College of the Law in 2007. While in law school, Ms. Bertoldi held an externship with Judge James S. Otero of the U.S. District Court for the Central District.
