Seyfarth represented Grande Communications, a division of Astound Broadband - the sixth largest cable operator in the United States, in its acquisition of Harris Broadband, L.P, a leading provider of fiber-to-the-home services, offering internet, TV, and voice services in areas of Central Texas.

Upon closing, the acquisition will add over 6,000 customers, 12,500 homes passed, and 150 miles of fiber plant to Grande’s operations in Texas. The company expects the transaction to close later this year. The union brings broadband expansion opportunities to underserved markets and will help bridge the digital divide in areas of Central Texas. You can read more about the deal here.

In November 2020, Seyfarth served as counsel to Patriot Media, the industry-leading management team headed by Steve Simmons and Jim Holanda, and as co-counsel to Astound Broadband in a $8.1 billion acquisition agreement with Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners, a private equity firm specializing in infrastructure investing. This transaction became the largest US private equity agreement in 2020 and the largest cable deal since 2015.

The Seyfarth Corporate team representing Grande Communications was led by New York partners Stanley Bloch (M&A) and Andrew Lucano (M&A), and included Rotem Bar-Kokhva (Tax), Jeryl Olson (Environmental), Kevin Young (Labor & Employment), Paul LeBlanc (Real Estate), Andrew Bridgman (Employee Benefits), Mathew Wiener (M&A), and Moshe Berliner (M&A).
