People: Dawn Reddy Solowey, Counsel
Biography
Dawn Solowey is counsel in the Labor & Employment Department in the Boston office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP.
Ms. Solowey's practice focuses on representing management clients in labor and employment litigation in state and federal courts, at both the trial and appellate levels, and in agencies including the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Ms. Solowey has successfully tried many cases in state and federal court. Most recently, Ms. Solowey second-chaired jury trials in a religious accommodation case in the Western District of Pennsylvania, and a defamation case in the District of Massachusetts, both to complete defense verdicts. Other recent successes include the defense, through appeal in the First Circuit, of a Sarbanes-Oxley whistleblower retaliation claim against a national retailer. Ms. Solowey has extensive experience advising clients regarding personnel and workplace issues.
Ms. Solowey also has significant experience in media and First Amendment law, where she has provided newspaper and television clients with pre-publication review of news stories, as well as representing them in litigation of defamation and related claims.
Prior to working at Seyfarth Shaw, Ms. Solowey practiced at Palmer & Dodge LLP from 1994 to 2000.
