Financial Times Honors Seyfarth with Innovation Award, Accolades

The Financial Times (FT) has recognized Seyfarth Shaw LLP as one of the world’s most innovative law firms for the eighth consecutive year in its annual FT Innovative Lawyers series.

After being shortlisted in several categories, Seyfarth won the award for “Innovation in the Business of Law - Strategy and Changing Behaviors” for its groundbreaking work by Seyfarth Labs during its annual awards ceremony.

In the full report released today, Seyfarth ranks No. 9 on the FT list of the most innovative laws firms for the business of law in North America for 2018. The FT noted the firm’s leadership across several categories:

  • Innovation in the Business of Law - Strategy and Changing Behaviors: Seyfarth was shortlisted and won the award as the top “standout” for Seyfarth Labs, which developed new internal operating efficiencies that enhance client service delivery.
  • Innovation in the Business of Law - Technology: Led by Seyfarth Labs, Seyfarth earned “commended” honors for its intelligent automation platform, Seyfarth Cognition.
  • Innovation in Collaboration: Seyfarth and 7-Eleven were shortlisted and earned “commended” honors for efforts to optimize the management of the retailer’s real estate portfolio.
  • Innovation in Legal Expertise - Dispute Resolution: Seyfarth earned “commended” honors for its U.S. Supreme Court victory for Digital Realty that defined whistleblower protections under the Dodd-Frank Act for the first time.

The annual FT Innovative Lawyers North America report was developed by the FT in partnership with RSG Consulting. Firms are selected for recognition following extensive research, direct client feedback and interviews with independent references.
