State-Specific Information

Alabama: No representation is made that the quality of the legal services to be performed is greater than the quality of legal services performed by other lawyers.

Colorado: Colorado does not certify lawyers as specialists in any field.

Hawaii: The Supreme Court of Hawaii grants Hawaii certification only to lawyers in good standing who have successfully completed a specialty program accredited by the American Bar Association.

Illinois: The Supreme Court of Illinois does not recognize certifications of specialties in the practice of law and a certificate, award or recognition is not a requirement to practice law in Illinois.

Mississippi: There is no procedure in Mississippi for approving certifying or designating organizations and authorities.

Missouri: Neither the Supreme Court of Missouri nor The Missouri Bar reviews or approves certifying organizations or specialist designations. The choice of a lawyer is an important decision and should not be based solely upon advertisements.

New Jersey: No aspect of this advertisement has been approved by the Supreme Court of New Jersey.

New York: None of the lawyers listed on this website is certified as a "specialist" pursuant to any governmental authority within the State of New York. Certification granted by another state or territory is not recognized by any governmental authority within the State of New York. Certification is not a requirement for the practice of law in the State of New York and does not necessarily indicate greater competence than other attorneys experienced in this field of law.
