We began with a simple question: Can we bring the best Seyfarth legal services to routine litigation — for a fixed fee?

CHALLENGE

High-volume litigation presents both a challenge and an opportunity for clients and the firm alike. Using a design thinking approach, we began with dozens of client and lawyer interviews to uncover unmet needs and generate new ideas for this work. During this process, our design team had unprecedented access to the firm’s partners and matter data for gathering information that would eventually feed the business model and prototype of our high-volume litigation solution.

SOLUTION

Through the design process, it became clear that our high-volume litigation solution must center around legal talent. We had to find the highest-quality attorneys who were willing to focus on a single tranche of work in exchange for autonomy and flexibility. And we had to do this without driving up cost or diminishing quality. Our focus on lawyer and business professional satisfaction (both for clients and the firm) ensures consistency of approach and ongoing institutional knowledge for clients.

FEATURES

The routine litigation solution design brings into play many elements from our long term investment in Seyfarth Lean alongside the talent model innovations identified in our business design process. The core features of the solution include: a dedicated client team, an up-front collaborative approach that results a bespoke playbook for each client, technology-based task management, and an intense focus on quality assurance.
