Byong Kim Discusses AI’s Accelerating Impact on the Legal Industry at ALM's Legalweek Conference

Seyfarth's Chief Data and AI Officer Byong Kim presented at the ALM Law.com Legalweek conference on the panel, “Law Firm Deconstruction and Remodeling in the Gen AI Era." The session explored how rapidly evolving technology is reshaping how law firms operate — from accounting and operations to talent management and client business development. 

Kim highlighted the speed at which attitudes toward AI have evolved across the profession, noting:

“It’s interesting—that switch, that flip from 2023 to now was so quick. There was some optimism, like, ‘Can AI be used for law?’ And then there was a shift—‘Should AI be used for law?’ And now it’s like everyone using it. … That switch was so fast.”
