Chip Ingraham Quoted in Atlanta Business Chronicle
The November 30, 2005 issue of the Atlanta Business Chronicle ran an article entitled: “Lawyer: Firing international terminal designer to cost city $150M” which describes Chip Ingraham’s analysis of the financial repercussions of the City of Atlanta’s decision to terminate the Terminal Design Team, the architects planning the international terminal for Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The article states:
“Chip Ingraham, attorney for the Terminal Design Team (TDT), said Wednesday the decision to terminate could cost Atlanta no less than an extra $150 million over what has already been spent on the stalled terminal project. This assumes millions of dollars proposed in fees for a new design team, escalation of materials and construction costs and expenses for debt management.
`The city of Atlanta wanted a world-class facility but was unwilling to compromise on numerous money saving options recommended by the design team,’ said Ingraham, a partner with Seyfarth Shaw. `Airport management threw up their hands and shut down the process without calculating the cost of this mismanagement. A $150 million price tag is the consequence of that unfortunate action.’
The project is now delayed indefinitely.”
