Chris Cottrell Chosen as a 2025 On the Rise Winner by Texas Legal Awards

Chris Cottrell, Corporate partner and leader of Seyfarth’s Energy Transactions practice, has been selected as an On the Rise Winner by the Texas Legal Awards for 2025. This honor recognizes Texas’ most promising lawyers under 40 who are “innovators, developing unique practice niches, amassing robust books of business, demonstrating strong leadership qualities, showing expertise in litigation, in-house or transactional work, and committing themselves to pro bono, charitable, and professional volunteer work.”

Cottrell launched the firm’s Energy Transactions practice when he joined Seyfarth in October 2024. The team is highly regarded for its deep experience in the oil and gas industry and its ability to deliver innovative, practical legal solutions that support clients’ business goals. The practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and general corporate and commercial matters, serving oil and gas exploration and production (E&P) companies, oilfield technology service providers, mineral and royalty acquisition firms, midstream companies, family offices, and private equity clients.

Cottrell will be recognized at an awards dinner on September 25, 2025.
