Seyfarth Shaw's Covered Bonds team was featured in the November 13, 2008 National Law Journal article, "Seyfarth Shaw Forms Covered Bonds Team." The Seyfarth Shaw Covered Bonds team was formed to help clients with legal questions related to the bonds, which are new financial instruments in the U.S. market. The article explained that covered bonds are bank-sponsored bonds backed by a pool of loans or receivables. They are far more secure than typical mortgage-backed securities. Seyfarth's team includes corporate, real estate, tax, and bankruptcy attorneys across the firm. Corporate partners Shirley Curfman and Nanette Heide were highlighted as team leaders in the article.
