Dennis Greenstein was quoted in the November 13, 2008 issue of The New York Times in the article, "Job Gremlins and the Contract." The article discussed how it used to be that you could have a house built on a handshake alone, but these days, it's important to put everything in writing, including the project's scope, the materials involved and the payment details. Dennis provided information on apartment renovations, which are a little different in nature. He said that "shareholders or owners must see if they need permission to do the job from the building's board of directors." He continued by explaining that if so, "the contract must provide that plans be submitted for board review and comment and that the work be done by licensed and insured pros (who will name the building as an additional insured). It must also address any restrictions for when work can or cannot be done." Finally, Dennis commented that "It can be painful and costly to have an alteration job stopped by the board because of the contractor's failure to perform work in accordance with the building's alternation agreement."
