Session 3: Managing Labor Concerns in the Transportation & Logistics Industries (Recording Below)

Pro-labor legislation at the federal level and the NLRB’s current political makeup, combined with a persistent labor shortage and concerns about employee safety and supply chain backlogs, have created an environment ripe for employee organizing. Unionization rates in the transportation and logistics industries continue to outpace other sectors, and union bargaining demands in today’s economic environment continue to escalate. Employers must plan thoughtfully as they work to navigate the uptick in union organizing activity and to maintain stable and productive labor-management relations in the face of increasing union demands.

This program is helpful for in-house employment and labor counsel and human resources professionals for both unionized and nonunion employers. Key topics include:

  • Developing strategies that will help anticipate and effectively respond to protected, concerted activity or union organizing
  • Providing tips for how to respond to a union election petition in today’s environment
  • Reviewing the bargaining objectives we are seeing among both employers and unions
  • Minimizing disruptions by maintaining a productive relationship between employers and unions
