John Mazzeo to Present Two Sessions at SHRM 2026
John Mazzeo, Counsel in Seyfarth’s Immigration practice, will present two sessions during the Society for Human Resource Management's (SHRM) 2026 Annual Conference, taking place June 16–19, 2026, in Orlando, FL. A former ICE prosecutor and recognized authority in employment eligibility verification, John will bring his firsthand expertise to HR professionals and employers navigating today’s heightened immigration enforcement environment.
In “Compliance Chaos: I-9, E-Verify, and Workforce Continuity in 2026,” John will address the workforce impact of TPS and parole program terminations, changes to STEM OPT and H-1B eligibility, and the verification challenges of remote and hybrid workforces — offering practical strategies to maintain compliance amid rapidly shifting policy.
In “Employers in the Hot Seat: Surviving Form I-9 Audits and Enforcement in Trump 2.0,” John will draw on his prosecutorial background to help employers understand evolving enforcement trends, prepare for audits, and implement proactive compliance measures to reduce liability.
