John Napoli Quoted in The National Law Journal
John Napoli is quoted in an October 16 article (“Chicago firms eye the Big Apple for expansion”) in the National Law Journal about Chicago based law firms’ efforts to expand in New York.
According to the author, growing firms are seeing the most expansion in New York, which is considered an increasingly important hub between U.S. and European offices. Most U.S. firms are intent on making sure they have a national presence large enough to attract new attorneys and keep large corporate clients satisfied with service.
Seyfarth Shaw is moving to a new location in New York to accommodate its future expansion, said John Napoli, co-managing partner of that office. The move, into the Renzo Piano-designed building at 620 Eighth Ave. in midtown Manhattan, will happen next year.
The firm, which has had an office in the city for 20 years, currently has almost 80 attorneys. The new space will have room for 150. Seyfarth has 650 attorneys worldwide and is largely known for its employment and labor practices.
Much of the rising customer demand for services in the city is being driven by hedge funds and other financial funds, Napoli said.
"They've become such a big player in the real estate and corporate areas," he said.
