Jose Almanzar, counsel in Seyfarth's Workplace Safety and Environmental practice, will be speaking at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) “Brownfields 2022” national training conference as part of an educational panel titled “Legal Considerations of Brownfields Redevelopment” on August 16, 2022.

Mini-Master Class on Brownfield Redevelopment

Jose will be part of a hand-picked team of leading national experts that will teach attendees to think like a brownfield redeveloper, and avoid the federal and state legal landmines associated with the redevelopment process. Topics will include a basic overview of applicable federal and state environmental laws, how to quickly quantify environmental costs and constraints, fundamental environmental insurance strategies, and how to position and evaluate projects for success from the perspective of top lawyers, environmental consultants and brownfield redevelopers. The faculty for this program are considered the “best of the best” in this arena, as they redeveloped even the toughest brownfields.

Jose’s presentation will cover environmental due diligence and minimizing environmental liability risk in brownfields transactions in light of the new regulatory standards adopted by the EPA in 2022.
