Katie Schwarting, Saadia Ghazi, and Arren Goldman to Speak at MBA's Commercial/Multifamily Finance Servicing and Technology Conference

Katie Schwarting, Saadia Ghazi, and Arren Goldman will speak at MBA's Commercial/Multifamily Finance Servicing and Technology Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana on May 19-22.

Katie Schwarting, partner in Seyfarth's Real Estate department and chair of the firm's Servicing & Special Servicing practice group, will serve as a panelist at the session, "Brace Yourselves - Impact of Increased Loan Defaults and Decreased Valuations," on May 20. At this session, servicers and special servicers will discuss best practices to prepare for declining appraisal values and defaulting loans amid lingering rumors of a downturn. Katie will also serve as a facilitator for the Commercial/Multifamily Super Session on May 22.

Saadia Ghazi, partner in Seyfarth's Real Estate department, will serve as a panelist at the session, "Digging 'Deeper than a Hollar' into Loan Modifications & Special Servicing," on May 21. The panelists will discuss what is in the special servicer playbook given the current market conditions as they walk through case studies and real-life examples.

Arren Goldman, partner in Seyfarth's Real Estate department and co-lead of the firm's Distressed Situations team, will serve as a moderator at the session, "Closing Catastrophes - War Stories and Workarounds," on May 20. The session will focus on the challenges and nuisances of commercial real estate loan closing, using cases of actual closing catastrophes, and the innovative workarounds and practical strategies employed for mitigating and overcoming these challenges.
