Kevin Connelly Published in the Washington Business Journal
"The risks of the GSA schedule"
Seyfarth Shaw Washington, D.C. office partner Kevin Connelly was published in the Washington Business Journal on May 19. The article discussed the General Services Administration (GSA) schedules program, in which the agency establishes long-term, government contracts with commercial firms to make commercial products and services accessible at discount pricing.
Kevin highlights three potential "traps" a contractor may fall into, possibly unwittingly committing False Claims Act violations, and he provides examples for each. The first trap occurs during price negotiation for the items on the contract's schedule contract with GSA. The second involves the government's aim to lock in your best price, and the third trap concerns the government's desire to purchase commercial items that must be from an eligible country according to the Trade Agreement Act.
