Kevin Woolf, Justice Barber, Mhare Mouradian, and Karen Levine to Speak at the ICSC+U.S. LAW Conference

Kevin Woolf, Justice Barber, Mhare Mouradian, and Karen Levine will serve as speakers at the ICSC+U.S. LAW Conference in Orlando, Florida on October 21-23.

Kevin Woolf, partner in Seyfarth's Real Estate department, will serve as a speaker for the session, "Generative AI in Law Practice: The Lawyer’s Nondelegable Duty to Verify," on October 21. Generative AI promises efficiency in drafting, analysis, and research, but can also introduce errors and ethical pitfalls. This session examines the limits of AI, including the ethical and professional standards that govern a lawyer’s oversight and verification responsibilities in light of recent disciplinary trends. Attendees will gain actionable guidance on responsibly integrating AI into practice while safeguarding competence and client interests.

Justice Barber, partner in Seyfarth's Real Estate department, will serve as a speaker for the session, "A PSA (Public Service Announcement) on PSA (Purchase and Sale Agreement) Representations and Warranties," on October 22.  This session will examine what representations and warranties are truly required in a commercial purchase and sale agreement. The panelists will discuss why certain issues may be better addressed through inspections and why others may be more securely handled by insurance. In addition, they will explore how damages arising from a breach should be handled and whether they should be capped by category or in the aggregate.

Mhare Mouradian, partner in Seyfarth's Litigation department, will serve as a speaker for the session, "Recent Trends in Retail Landlord/Tenant Disputes and How to Draft Around the Issues," on October 22. Litigation involving landlord/tenant disputes is an ever-changing world. This session will discuss current trends and strategies for lease defaults and disputes including strategies to properly limit and allocate risks.

Karen Levine, partner in Seyfarth's Real Estate department, will serve as a speaker for the session, "Negotiating Landlord and Tenant Work Letters: Critical Concepts and Common Pitfalls," on October 23. This session will examine landlord and tenant work letters within commercial lease transactions from both the landlord’s and tenant’s perspectives. The discussion will explore the key components and critical concepts underlying work letters, with an emphasis on the provisions most frequently negotiated. Real-world examples will be used to illustrate how different negotiation approaches and outcomes can materially impact the transaction and the build-out process.
