Kimberly Gordy Appointed Vice Chair of ABA’s 2015-2016 Emerging Issues in Healthcare Law Conference

Seyfarth Shaw’s Kimberly Gordy, member of the firm’s Corporate department and Health Law practice group in Houston, was named 2015-2016 Vice Chair of the Emerging Issues in Healthcare Law Conference for the American Bar Association Health Law Section. The 17th Annual Conference on Emerging Issues in Healthcare Law will take place March 2-5, 2016 in San Diego, California.

The Health Law Section is the voice of the national health law bar within the American Bar Association (ABA). Its 10,600 strong members from across the United States represent clients in all segments of the health care industry, including physicians, hospitals and other institutional providers, teaching and research organizations, managed care organizations and other third-party payors, pharmaceutical companies and device manufacturers.

Ms. Gordy’s practice focuses on the healthcare industry, and includes both healthcare related transactional and litigation matters. She maintains a special interest in pediatric health law. Her work on pediatric consent is published in the Yale Journal of Health Policy, Law, and Ethics, and she has presented at the National Pediatric Bioethics Conference. She previously served as the Assistant Director of Family Resources at the University of Texas Medical Branch Perinatal Hospice, and as a Legal Postdoctoral Fellow at Texas Children's Hospital. She currently sits as a community member on the Texas Children's Hospital Bioethics Committee.
