Laura Maechtlen Quoted in the Affiliate "Spotlight on the National Lesbian and Gay Law Association: Promoting Justice In and Through the Legal Profession"

Laura Maechtlen was quoted in the July/August, 2008 issue of Affiliate in the article, "Spotlight on the National Lesbian and Gay Law Association: Promoting Justice In and Through the Legal Profession." The article discussed how the "recent decision by the California Supreme Court that same sex couples must be allowed to enter into state-sanctioned marriages with the same rights and privileges as opposite sex couples highlights the unique position of the National Lesbian and Gay Law Association's (NLGLA) role in shaping some of the most controversial and important legal issues of our time."

The article goes on to highlight Laura's role as the current national president of the organization and her leadership in improving the quality of life for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender legal community and implementing NLGLA's strategic plan.  Laura noted, "There is a big push to diversify in law firms." She further explained that Seyfarth Shaw has been "stellar in their support" for her work on behalf of the NLGLA legal community.
