“Seyfarth Shaw Adds Corporate Partner in Chicago”

A June 9 Law360 article reported on Corporate partner Matthew Hafter’s recent move from Grippo & Elden to Seyfarth Shaw. The article highlighted Matthew’s extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions; venture capital; securities offerings; secured lending transactions; advising companies on securities compliance and corporate governance; and drafting joint venture, license and distribution agreements.

Matthew’s interest in transaction work began when he was a summer associate in the 1980s. "I thought, litigation's OK, but putting deals together — that's really interesting," Matthew remembered. "You're helping to marry capital with technical and scientific ideas and development. When you put all that together, you cure cancer, you have a new medical device, you have a new way of getting services to people."

The team spirit at Seyfarth was one of the things that drew Matthew to the firm. "I really got the sense that they put a real premium on collaboration across disciplines. I'm absolutely thrilled."
