Meagan Newman was quoted in a February 25 story “3 Ways to Reduce Risk of Workplace Violence: Laws, Policies and Police” from SHRM on how HR professionals should make sure their workplace violence prevention programs are sound and should consult with their local police departments. Newman said that often, people do not take action because they do not know what to do, or they are worried about making a mistake—but inaction or keeping silent is the worst possible choice in these circumstances.
