Michael Delaney, partner in Seyfarth's Corporate department, will speak at America's Newspapers 2026 Family Owners Meeting, taking place from September 27-28 in Washington, D.C. Mike will be leading a 45-minute interactive session, "Succession Planning Beyond the Family Tree: Ownership, Leadership, Governance, and Strategic Alternatives," which will focus on the business, governance, and strategic considerations involved in ownership transitions. Topics will include family succession, professional management alternatives, governance structures, shareholder liquidity planning, mergers and acquisitions, mission-oriented ownership models, and the challenges of balancing family wealth, local journalism, and community stewardship.
