Ofer Lion a Speaker at 2022 Hawaii Tax Institute

Ofer Lion, partner in Seyfarth’s Corporate practice, served as a speaker at the Hawaii Tax Institute on November 7 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Ofer’s session, “Current Developments in Charitable Giving and Nonprofits,” covered several pressing topics for nonprofits, including: the IRS’s “strict construction” of substantiation and appraisal regulations; public policy and illegality; the continuing battle over DAF regulation; IRS notice on LLCs; employer sponsored disaster relief programs; creating enforceable and more durable trusts and restricted grants; cryptocurrency and NFTs; split dollar insurance compensation arrangements; and gifts of carried interests in investment funds.
