Paul Freehling Quoted in Chicago Lawyer
“Local Legal Clinic Strives to Meet Residents’ Needs”
Paul Freehling is quoted in the November 2007 issue of Chicago Lawyer in the article, “Local Legal Clinic Strives to Meet Residents’ Needs.” The article profiles Cabrini Green Legal Aid Clinic and its 398 volunteers that provided 9,869 hours of pro bono services in the last fiscal year to over 3,000 clients, potential clients, and help desk visitors.
Paul, a CGLA volunteer for about a year and a half, assists with clemency petitions for those who want their convictions removed from their records. He notes that, "These people are law-abiding, honorable citizens who got in trouble, usually when they were adolescents, and want to get good jobs and pay taxes and be role models for their families, and they've got this cloud over their heads."
