Paul Mattingly Quoted in American Lawyer
"Real Estate Recovery?"
Seyfarth Shaw partner and Chair of the Real Estate Practice Paul Mattingly was quoted in the April issue of American Lawyer in an article which discussed a possible rebound in the real estate industry, evidenced by recent multibillion-dollar property deals and lateral hiring at several high-profile law firms.
Paul said, "There's a lot of pent-up money that wants to be invested. CMBS (commercial mortgage-backed securities) are starting to emerge, there's more liquidity, more competition among lenders for deals and continuing distress work." He predicted, "I can say 2011 will be better, but it won't be like it was in 2007," optimistically adding, "My hair is a lot grayer than it was three years ago, but we've seen several cycles over the years, and we've always bounced back."
