Paul Pryzant and James Sowka Panelists for Deal Lawyers Webinar "Distressed M&A: Dealmaking in the New Normal"

Paul Pryzant, partner in Seyfarth's Corporate department, and James Sowka, partner in Seyfarth’s Litigation department and co-lead of the firm’s Distressed Situations team, will be serving as a panelist for the Deal Lawyers webinar "Distressed M&A: Dealmaking in the New Normal" on July 28, 2020.

For at least the rest of 2020, many—if not most—M&A transactions are likely to involve distressed targets. Acquisitions of distressed targets involve unique risks, require dealmakers to consider the interests of multiple constituencies, and often provide buyers with very limited recourse for unwanted liabilities. But they also offer opportunities to acquire attractive assets at discounted prices, and permit dealmakers to reduce risk through appropriate transaction structuring, R&W insurance, and other risk mitigation techniques.
